| På mellersta Gotland ligger försöksstationen Stenstugu. Här bedrivs sedan 1954 fältförsöksverksamhet. Denna verksamhet drevs av SLU till och med år 2003. Sedan 2004 är Gotlands läns hushållningssällskap huvudman för försöksverksamheten. Varje år pågår cirka 50 fältförsök och demonstrationsodlingar på Stenstugu. Åkermarken ligger i väl arronderade fält, med jordarter som varierar från moränmellanlera till kärrtorvmull. Jordarna är i klass III för fosfor (P-AL), klass III-IV för kalium (K-AL) och pH-värdena är mellan 7 till 8. Det finns betesmarker med natur- och kulturvärden. Öläget och närheten till havet ger kalla vårar med milda höstar och vintrar. Nederbörden, cirka 525 mm/år, är ojämnt fördelad vilket leder till försommartorka och många soltimmar.... |

| The Organic research farm Kourla is further developed as a model for stockless organic farming. Planning and book keeping is launched using the PELTOTUKIPRO -programme and the NUTIKKAPRO-map -programme. Records of soil fertility are regularly made. The plots are offered to other units for experiments. Detailed research programmes are planned yearly. |

| Systemic approach to study organic sheep for meat production. Two flocks of 100 ewes. Fodder area 2x24ha and crops 2*1,5ha. Sheep house for 200 ewes and their lambs and device to make measurements Items studied : animal reproduction, feeding, health (parasitism), forages, economics, environnement. One system is based on one lambing per ewe per year ; the second one is based on accelerated reproduction (3 lambings over 2 years). Spring lambs fattened with grass. See projet 5668. |

| Toholampi leaching field (owned by the MTT Agrifood Research Finland) is situated in Western Finland (63° N 24° E). The field consists of 16 plots of 0.16 hectares each. The soil type is fine sand, with five % organic C in the plough layer. There has been an experimental setup with organic and conventional crop rotations since 1997. Plots are sub-drained and water is collected separately from each plot to the observation building, where the volume of water is measured and flow-weighted water samples for analyses are taken manually. Surface water is also collected and measured. |

| Experimental farm resource to evaluate complete systems. 86 hectare organic dairy farm converted in 1992-94 period. Facilities currently evaluating two contrasting systems of milk production including changes in nutrient budgets, efficiency of nutrient utilisation, soil fertility, crop quality, animal health, animal performance and financial margins. Linked to six commercial organic dairy farms. Ty Gwyn farm with 74 ha converted to organic production, herd of 90 Holstein-Friesian cows and 40 young stock, fully equipped dairy unit, all managed to Soil Association standards, with a wide range of soil types and both permanent pasture and crop rotation systems and a range of wildlife habitats suitable for environmental studies |
